Dynamic Trolley, Wooden |
A pair of trolleys for investigating momentum, velocity, acceleration and energy conservation. Both trolleys are identical and each consists of a rectangular wooden body carried upon three low friction wheels to ensure smooth straight operation. One trolley is supplied with one strong spring plunger. The trolley is provided with three dowel pegs so that the trolleys can be stacked upon one another. This enables the effective mass to be increased. In front of each trolley, two holes are drilled and fitted with corks.
If long pins are pushed through the corks of one of the trolleys, they can be made to stick together after collision. |
Second Law of Motion Apparatus |
This apparatus demonstrates Newton’s Second Law of Motion. It consists of a spring-loaded device to show that a ball released vertically will hit the floor at the same time as a ball propelled horizontally. It is provided with a detachable rod which enables to clamp the apparatus on a stand or table. Includes 2 steel balls. |
Falling Body Apparatus |
A simple apparatus to demonstrate that a body propelled horizontally will fall vertically at the same rate as a similar body allowed to fall freely. Comprises of a spring loaded L-section launcher. There are holes in it for placing two 19mm dia ball. When the launcher is released by a push button, one ball falls freely whereas the second ball is projected forward. Mounted on a wooden box with a storage pocket for balls. Includes two steel balls. |

Hare's Apparatus |

Van De Graaff Generator, Hand Driven |
Hand operated on a wooden base. The generator is self exciting. The unit is fitted with a large pulley with a handle, which drives the upper pulley assembly through a belt. The charge builds up until electrical breakdown of air surrounding the sphere occurs. |
